Huzzah! The Plan is Revealed!

Okay:

1. It’s been awhile since I last wrote, like, really wrote. I know. Lay off already.
2. I told you PHASE 1 of the plan.  Simpler life, sell the house and move into an apartment, blah blah blah.  Remember that? If not you can read about it here.
3. I have been sooooo busy packing, moving, and drawing.

So, now I can share with you PHASE 2.  Brian and I have talked a lot, spent a large amount of time in counsel of others, and a lot of time soul searching over this decision.  We have decided to allow me to take some time off of work to stay home with the kids.  The girls will be starting kindergarten next fall which will allow me the next 8 months or so to be home with them one on one two.

I can’t tell you how excited I am about this transition.  It’s been so hard giving over my kids for 9+ hours a day to someone else only to pick them up after I’m so exhausted I just want to be left alone.

Don’t get me wrong, leaving work was very bittersweet.  The relationships I have developed with families are amazing and my coworkers are a hoot- particularly my BFAW, Sarah, who I’ve spent more time with over the last few years than my family! I’m going to miss her most of all.  Let me tell you, though, there is nothing like leaving your position to make you feel really appreciated. It’s been like attending my own eulogy. Weird.

So, with my last day being today and already behind me *sniff, sniff* tomorrow begins our grand adventure.  The girls already have about 30 items planned for the day so it should go quick!

  1. Heather Wambach

I saw this on Facebook before I read your blog post (I’m a bit behind) and was so happy to tell people that you were doing this. I kept saying “She’s manifesting all the amazing things we talked about at Lovebomb and is making her dreams reality!”.

I’m so proud of you, and I know Barb would be dancing and toasting to you if she were alive.

And I’m so happy for your girls. That was the hardest part about having my first baby, realizing that I got 8 weeks with him and then would be handing him over to someone else for 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. They are so lucky to get you for this time.

Hopefully we can make this winter Lovebomb thing work out and we’ll get some quality time together to talk about these amazing changes in your life.
